Freedom Day Commemoration Event

Freedom Day Commemoration Event Freedom Day is celebrated on 27 April annually in commemoration of the first democratic elections in South Africa in 1994, and in recognition and celebration of our continued democracy. It is an opportunity to reflect on our unique Constitution which is widely regarded as the most progressive Constitution in the world, with a Bill of Rights second to none. Freedom Day is a time to celebrate our hard-won democracy.
