Tswelo Grant Fund
The SAAYC Tswelo Grant Fund was established for the Member Youth Clubs to equip the clubs with the tools, structures and resources necessary to carry out their programmes; and through these clubs, subsequently make a positive impact on their communities.
Eligibility:
In order to be considered for the SAAYC Tswelo Grant Fund, a Club needs to adhere to the following criteria:
- The club membership must be paid up in full for a minimum of 1 year;
The club needs to have:
- A functioning governing committee/board;
- A functioning constitution;
- A sound financial accountability system;
- A bank account registered in the name of the club;
- The club needs to be able to provide written references from partners and stakeholders;
- The projects, initiatives and activities that will be funded by the grant needs to be part of an on-going programme; that will provide personal learning and skills development to the youth and their communities
Exemptions:
The following items will not be funded by the fund:
- Salaries for the club members;
- Food/catering for the programmes;
- Addictive substances such as alcohol and nicotine;
- Cell phones and laptops for personal use.

- Receive an application form receipt
- A verification telephone interview or club visit may be arranged
- SAAYC will notify you, in writing, about the outcome of your application
Terms and conditions:
SAAYC reserves the right to:
- Screen applications for eligibility and category placement;
- To place clubs in starter, intermediate and established categories according to their needs and abilities;
- To place proposals that are eligible for funding in order of preference.
Helpful Hints:
Your application will be assessed on the following criteria:
- The clarity of the description on how the projects, initiatives and activities will be addressed and its relevance to the programme;
- The consistency of your proposal – that is the coherence between your programme(s), objective(s), activity(ies) and result(s);
- A clear description of your approach and the sustainability of the project
- The quality of your approach and sustainability;
- The relevance of the values and philosophies of your programme to an integrated youth development model;
- The quality of your approach and sustainability;
